Brett Hyde - Founding Director, Finance, Operations and Sales
Entrepreneurial by nature, Brett has been involved in various businesses since the 1980s. An interest in IT flourished during the 1990's when Brett worked in, and owned, photographic mini-labs.
Brett has been with Buyequip "from the beginning". Initially starting out tinkering with computers as a hobby in 1998, Buyequip was officially born in February 2001 when Brett first attended the Sunday Computer Market. Subsequently operating very successfully as a used IT retailer out of its Stafford Warehouse until 2008, Brett oversaw Buyequip's move to its new 2000sqm premise in Red Hill, and its transformation into one of Queensland's largest End-of-Use and End-of-Life IT services organisations in 2009.
Brett is the Founding Director of Buyequip and is responsible for finance and sales.

Jamie Miller - Director, Business Development, Marketing and Innovation
Jamie's background is in Sustainability Science. He has been involved in the electronics recycling industry since 2004 after conducting an independent research project at the Australian National University. In 2005 he founded an eWaste company in Adelaide, served on the Environment Committee of the South Australian Chamber of Commerce and in 2007 was granted a Masters scholarship of Science and Technology Commercialisation at the University of Adelaide. During this time he also founded a water resource recovery company, winning the National John Heine Entrepreneurial Competition, attracting the interest of investors, blue-chip mining companies and featured in the S.A. Mining Journal. Jamie has also completed a degree in Political Economy at the ANU and spent 10 months of 2010 as an Acting CEO of a Australian Food & Beverage Company before joining Buyequip in a full-time capacity.
Jamie has been associated with Buyequip since 2007 and joined Buyequip as an Executive Director in 2010. Jamie is responsible for business development, marketing and innovation.

Joel Prokic - Director, Acquisitions and Valuations
Joel's background is in computer remarketing and asset management. He comes to Buyequip with both 5 years' experience at Right Price Computer Warehouse as a Director and Operations Manager, and a Director of a competing asset management company. After selling both of these businesses he joined Buyequip as an Executive Director in 2011.
Joel has been associated with Buyequip since 2009. At Buyequip he is responsible for client acquisitions, purchasing and valuations. His high level of product knowledge empowers Buyequip's clients to make confident disposal decisions based on highly accurate market valuations of their end-of-use IT equipment. Joel shows great passion for Buyequip and its future.

Jeannie Johnstone - Quality Assurance Manager
Jeannie completed her Bachelor of Environmental Science and Arts from the University of New South Wales in 2007. She specialised in microbiology and her honours project investigated a method for the reductive dechlorination of hexachlorobutadiene. Moving to Brisbane, Jeannie carried out research at the University of Queensland in the production of polymers that could be made into plastic and would be a renewable and biodegradable alternative to conventional plastic made from petroleum. Jeannie has also studied Innovation Management at the University of New South Wales.
Jeannie changed career direction, moving away from University into the waste/recycling industry using other skills from her Environmental Science degree. She recently joined Buyequip and is responsible for environmental and quality management.

Angela Bowen - Office and HR Manager
Angela is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative and Professional Writing at QUT Kelvin Grove. Concurrently, she has completed a Business Administration course and is undertaking HR electives as part of her degree.
Initially commencing as an office assistant with Buyequip in 2010, Angela's high attention to detail and exceptional organisational ability have resulted in her promotion to her current role. She is an invaluable asset at Buyequip.

Melody Liu - Accounts Manager
Melody graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master of Commerce (Advanced) degree and Dean's Honour Roll award in 2010. She majored in Accounting and Finance and is studying towards the CPA programme. Melody specialised in Accounting and Financial Management. She also has background in Marketing and Industrial Economics.
Melody joined Buyequip in May 2011 and is responsible for accounts, daily financial reporting and payroll management.
